I met a veteran of the 2nd world war in Helsinki at a concert of Sibelius yesterday. The concert´s revenue supports those veterans inured during and after the War. After the War? Yes, peace keeping operation made a huge number of young Finnish people suffering at battle fields. Between Japan and Finland, Veterans societies have a long tie after the War. The War doesn´t go over. It is a reality I met here in Finland.
Meanwhile, the concert is a good place to give an opportunity to the youth. Young students have a chance to show their talents. I met a very much savvy pianist whose analysis of Finlandia by Siblius is very much imaginative and creative, original and beautiful. Yes we have hope even after suffering, as Beethoven said. Music is great.
