It is the feast for St. Laurence according to my liturgy. The mass was serviced as is ordinary. Why? I checked the official calendar issued by Japan's bishops council, which says it is not celebrated here for St. Laurence the deacon martyr. But, is it acceptable in the Roman Rite? Anyway, I follow my liturgy published in the United Kingdom, as usual today. In my chidlhood, everybody knows the story of the popular martyr and celebrates his deers on the day. Time has changed, only in this country. I don't know why.
