It was almost ten years ago when I met Mr. Shigeru BAN. He has become a world-widely recognized architect for his innovative style of paper-house building. We saw each other at a morning dinner in a faculty house of Keio University in Japan. I was an assistant professor of computer science and he was a professor of architect. We were only guests in the morning and soon got together to enjoy breakfast. He told me what he was doing that was the bamboo-made house. It was the first idea of his style of building. At that time, I didn't understand why it was so good or innovative to the world. However, after various nature disasters, he made great contributions to help people in need of shelters with his paper-made houses. I really respect his doing. After our meeting, I left Keio as he did so. Now, he flies around the world to extend his hands to those most in need of shelters. I happened to see a program that introduced his latest development last night. I am happy to see him again.
