I had a nice chat with a curator at the British Museum in its reading room. He gave me a pop quiz with a necklace of many small teeth what it is. I pondered and told it must be a shark tooth. He said no. He hinted me with a more amicable animal. A dolphin! He affirmed me. It is almost 750 dolphin tooth necklace for currency purpose in the Solomon Islands. In the 19th century, the natives killed five to six dolphins and made it. You put this gorgeous necklace that shows you off around you are rich. If you have time to visit the Museum, I definitely advise you to have a talk with curators who are very very knowledgeable and willing to share what they know about the collection with you. I really love this museum.
