I found a pink bulb of Camellia japonica - 'Kuchi-beni Kochou Wabi-suke' in Japanese having blossomed in my east yard. It is too early for this species. It's a nice gift before Christmas. But, other Camellia species don't have any bulbs. What's going this year? The extreme heat has devastated others this summer. Alas!
