Mt. Ontake erupted this noon in the central Japan. It is one of volcanic high mountains in Japan. It is also known as a holy site in Japan's traditional religion, Shintoism. Actually its summit has a Shinto shrine near the top. The latest news reported that at least thirty or more climbers and tourists suffered and seriously injured. Among them, no less than ten people are anticipated in coma. In my memory, it's the first tragedy on a tourist site volcano in Japan.
