I am delighted to sing British hymns here in Japan; The Divine Office teaches me which one is exactly proper for each day. One of things that I cannot find a reason on is that Japanese hymns sound very depressing me with sad tunes. In my childhood, we sang Immaculate Maria with joy; now nobody sings it. We would change something inside church.
