In the south-west yard of my garden, a ivory white flower of Hibiscus syriacus, 'Mukuge - Gion Mamori' in Japanese, has blossomed. This flower heralds the beginning of the season of 'Gion Festival' in Kyoto. What a lovely gift from the Heavens it is!
