The number of COVID-19 cases has been doubled in Tokyo today. It's not a surprise to anybody, because the omicron subvariant BA.5 appears to escape antibody responses and many cases of the subvariant are reported around the country. Anyway, this July is the same with last July in Japan: the number of patients sharply surges within a couple of weeks. It is a nightmare.
